Today we headed up north to my parents cabin for Thanksgiving part II. It was such a gorgeous day outside. I loved the contrast in the desert, the cactus against the stormy sky. This isn't the greatest picture, but not too bad for being taken as we are driving 75 mph down the highway.
Joe loved it when we were driving up on the rim and we were actually IN the clouds. He had to roll down his window so he could reach his hand out and touch the clouds. The snow on the rim made for some awesome scenery. We got there around oneish. My mom and dad, the Gonzo's and Jared and Tricia's families were already there. Darrel and Trina and Sheri and Ian's families arrived shortly thereafter. There were 27 of us in all. And you know what? There was room for everybody. My dad really did it up right this time. The new cabin is awesome! We all pitched in with the cooking and by 3:00 p.m. we were eating! If you want to see the eating pictures, you'll have to check out Sheri's blog. She posted plenty of them.
It was fun hanging out and playing games, watching movies, talking and just enjoying being together. 27 people can get pretty loud, but for the most part, it was all happy noise.
I loved this picture of Joshua hanging out by the fireplace. Isn't he such a cutie?
My favorite part of the day was at night when the kids were in their jammies, drinking hot chocolate. Evan was hilarious. He would dip the spoon in his cup, then lick it, and then announce: "That's good." He repeated this about 20 times. He really enjoyed the hot chocolate.
Also, a bunch of us watched ELF tonight. It doesn't get much better than that.

Wow. The cabin is beautiful. I love Evan and the hot chocolate. Kids are such a great reminder to us about taking pleasure in the little things.
Man, my baby is cute.
I'm just saying.
