Note to self.....

* Note to self - do NOT go to Costco on a Saturday again unless you enjoy fighting your way through hundreds and hundreds of people.  People who like to park their carts in the middle of aisles so you can't get around them.

Also, don't bring hungry son with you on sample day unless you want to end up spending about 5 times the amount of money you were planning on spending.

Thank you, that is all.

Have you seen this cat?

Since I don't have a camera right now, I can't take any new pictures.  I got this one from "You Had Me At Idiot", one of Brian's favorite blogs.

Also, Have you seen this Cat?  Because she's awesome too.
I am already loving this years So You Think You Can Dance.  Can't wait for Wednesday night.

I don't really have anything new to say, I just wanted to post something.

Happy Day!

R.I.P. camera

I have good excuses for not posting daily.  Really, I do.  Sadly, my camera died.  And what fun is a post, if there are no pictures to go with it, right?

It had been very temperamental with me lately, not focusing right, or the flash kept popping up when it didn't need a flash.  Then, I was at Michael's baseball game the other night and I was trying to take some pictures.  This is the only one I got:

Right after I took this picture, the lens fell off my camera and onto the ground.  What?
Brian re-attached the lens, but now it refuses to take any pictures whatsoever.  How am I going to live without my camera?  It is like a part of me.  I am in serious mourning right now.

So much for doing another year of daily picture posts.  Now, when I do post I'll have to use old photo's or photos from off of the internet.

Speaking of older photo's, here are some I took about a week and a half ago.  My friend Karen called me and told me to join facebook.  I said there was no way I would be joining facebook.  I am totally anti facebook, twittering, my space or anything of the like.  The only reason I was even blogging was so I could keep a (kind of) journal.  Anyway, she then informed me that if you were on facebook, and you "friended" Doughnut Dan, then printed off the page that showed him as your friend and took it to any Krispy Kreme location, then you would get a card that would allow you a free doughnut every day for 1 year.

So, guess what I did?  Yup!  I joined facebook.  Apparently I can be bought, and at a pretty cheap price too.  The thing is, I don't really even like Krispy Kreme doughnuts that much.  I don't even like doughnuts that much period.  I have a doughnut maybe twice a year.  What got me was the FREE.  I am a cheapo!  I am a sucker for a good deal.  So, the fact that I could get something for free was too much for me.  I joined, so did Joe and Brian, and Adam and Michael.  Dallin was already on facebook.  Anyway, we joined, we drove to Krispy Kreme, we got our FREE doughnuts and our cards.  The boys were pretty happy!

I think Michael and Joe were the happiest.

Thanks for the tip Karen!

If I get a wish...

THURSDAY, MAY 7th - 2009

Joe and I have lots of conversations, about everything.  He really likes to talk.

Today out of the blue he says:  "If I get a wish in Heaven, then I wish I could fly.  If I get two wishes then I wish I could turn into a tiger."
What would you wish for?

Tuesday's with Jared

TUESDAY, MAY 5th - 2009

Every Tuesday night at 7:00 Joseph has a guitar lesson.  He has the greatest teacher EVER - his cousin Jared Ammon.  Jared Ammon is the the coolest.  He is really helping Joe become a good guitar player.  I snuck in at the end and snapped a quick picture.  I didn't want to interrupt.  This week they were learning some Matt Costa.  Brian recently went to his concert and Joe wanted to rub it in that he can play Matt Costa songs and Brian can't.  (on a side note, I actually caught Joe teaching Brian a Matt Costa song.  They were practicing and singing together.  It was really cute).
Also, today was Percy Jackson day - hooray! Wow, I just experienced some deja vu there.  It was almost one year ago today that I typed that same thing (It was May 6th last year).  Last year it was book 4 that we were excited about.  This year it is book 5 - Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian.  This is one of Joe's very favorite book series.  We love Percy Jackson around here.  As soon as guitar lesson was over we hurried over to Barnes and Noble and picked up the book.
I can't wait to read this one.  Joe better hurry and finish.

On a side note, I could live at Barnes and Noble.  I need to get a job there to support my addiction to reading.  Also it smells fantastic.  The smell of books and coffee (there is a starbucks inside) is fantastic to me.  I love it.

monday

MONDAY, MAY 4th - 2009

Today I went to my mom's to take photo's of Adam.  He needed them for a play he is trying out for (did I mention he is a fabulous actor?)  I liked this one because he is smiling.
I got lucky.  It also turned out to be an Addy and Ro day, so I stayed and played a while.  Addy and I played princesses.  Ro and Joshua joined in a little too.  My mom has a set of Disney princess dolls that we play with.  Addy was Mulan and Jasmine.  Joshua took Ariel away from us and carried her around for a while.  I was Belle.  Belle is the best because she reads, and she doesn't judge people by what they look like (she did fall in love with beast before she knew he was a prince).  Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty were also there.  Ro doesn't really play.  He just steals the dolls and then run's away laughing.  He's too cute.

Isn't Addy a cutie?
Happy Day!

I did it!

SUNDAY, MAY 3rd - 2009

Do you know what today is?  It is day 365 of my photo-a-day blog.  Woo hoo!  I did it.  One year ago I decided to take the photo-a-day challenge from my friend Karen.  I wasn't sure I would be able to do it.  I'm not so great at following through on things.  But, I decided I'd try.  I can't believe I actually did it.  I posted at least one photo for every day of the last year.  Now true, not all of the photo's were mine, some I downloaded from the internet, but hey, she never said I had to be the one to actually take the photos.

I went back to the beginning today and looked at them all.  It was fun to go back and look over all of the things that happened in the last year.  It's like a mini journal.  I never was really good at journal writing.

Anyway, I've always loved trips down memory lane.  Now I'll have something to look back on.  I haven't decided yet if I'll continue the challenge for this next year or not.  Somedays it was really hard to come up with a photo.  Some days are just filled with laundry, chores, errands - nothing too exciting.  It's hard to take photo's on those days.  We'll just have to see how it goes.

Anyway, here is my photo for day 365:
It's from Family Home Evening at my mom's house.  My mom must be giving a great lesson, she's got everybody's attention.

Happy day!  See you tomorrow (maybe).

Riding Giants

SATURDAY, MAY 2nd - 2009

This morning Brian and Joe went and saw the first showing of X-men origins:  Wolverine.  I told you Joe couldn't wait.

After wasting the day away yesterday I had the best intentions of getting something accomplished while they were gone.  Sometimes while I work (especially with ironing), I'll turn the t.v. on.  So, I switched it on and was looking for something.  What I found was a documentary film on the history if big wave surfing, and tow-in surfing.  It's called "Riding Giants."  It was made by Stacy Peralta - one of the original legendary Z-boys. The Z-boys were a group of skateboarders from Santa Monica in the 1970'2 credited with popularizing skateboarding in the 1970's.  And there's your history lesson for the day.

Any way, I'd seen this documentary before and I liked it, so I kept it on.  I have such a love of the ocean.  It's a beautiful thing.  And, I've always wanted to learn how to surf.   Of course, I ended up getting totally sucked in to the show and didn't get any work done.  Oh well.

My day off

FRIDAY, MAY 1st - 2009

I've been super busy lately.  It just seems like days and days of going and going.  So, today, I gave myself the day off.  I laid on the couch and read almost all day.  I read this book a long time ago when I was still in school.  I remembered I really liked it, but that was about all I remembered about it.  So, when I saw it in Joe's book order last month, I decided to order it.  On a side note, does anyone get as excited as I do when those book order things come home?  I LOVE it.

I had just finished another book, and so I picked this one up.  I read the whole thing in one day. It's not a very long book, and its a quick easy read.
I decided I should give myself the day off more often.

D.A.R.E.

THURSDAY, APRIL 30th - 2009

Tonight was D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistant Education) graduation at Joe's school.  He was super excited to go.  He went through a 10 week program at his school.  Officer Dan would come into the class and talk to them about Drugs and Alcohol.  Here he is shaking his teacher's hand and accepting his diploma.
He also got a t-shirt.
Afterwards there was lemonade and cake and hanging out with his friends.  He had a fun time.

slacker

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29th - 2009

I am a slacker lately.  I haven't been good about taking my daily photo's.  I've been too stinkin' busy.  I hate being busy.

Today was filled with more of the same busy.  I can't wait until Joe's stupid history project is done.  YES we are still working on the SAME project, for hours every night.

Finally I got the chance to sit my butt on the couch and do some nothing for a while.  Thank goodness for DVR.  I know a lot of you aren't watching American Idol this year.  But I AM, and this is what I did tonight, and since I don't have a picture of the day, this is what you are getting.
This is what I have to say about tonight:  Although Kris is my favorite, Danny was freakin' fantastic tonight.
That is all.

Jealous

TUESDAY, APRIL 28th - 2009

If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, then we all know where I'm headed.

So much for my posting 3 a day until I am caught up.  I am now officially a week behind - oh well.  It's been a really long week.  "Just keep swimming", right?

Last night the world premiere for the new movie X-men Origins: Wolverine took place in Tempe, Arizona.
Adam got to attend the premiere.  He wasn't just one of the thousands of people in the crowd, he actually got to go in and see the movie too.  Here he is showing off his autographs.  You can't actually read them, but they say "Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, and Taylor Kitsch."

He did take actual pictures at the premiere, but since they are on my mom's camera, and she almost NEVER takes the pictures off of the camera, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Here's one I took off of the internet.  He didn't take this photo, but you get the idea.
Joe was incredibly jealous.  He is a huge Hugh Jackman fan and is counting down the days until he can see this movie.  He was especially excited because Gambit, one of his favorite comic book characters EVER is going to be in the movie.

I was excited about Gambit for other reasons.  While I am not as huge an X-men fan as Joe is, I am a huge fan of the actor they chose to play Gambit - Taylor Kitsch - a.k.a. "Tim Riggins" from Friday Night Lights:

I officially can't wait to see this movie now.
