Mission Beach

Here are some photos from our day at the beach:

Joe loves the ocean.  He was a little disappointed that we didn't have boogie boards this time, but we still enjoyed the ocean.

He still found ways to have fun.
Of course we had to stay until sunset.  You can't be at the ocean and not watch the sun set.
We were there for over 6 hours, and we loved every minute of it.  The sunset was well worth waiting for.
The beach is probably my favorite place on earth.  One day was not enough, but I guess it is better than nothing.  We can't wait to go back.

Jolly Good Show

So, it's been a while - partly because I was without a camera, and what fun is blogging without photos? and partly because its summertime and we have  been out of town a lot.

Here is some of what I've been doing this summer.  Within the last 2 weeks I have seen some good shows.  The first was Wicked.  Thanks to my mom's friend Kay, Sheri and I got to go with my mom and dad to see this show.  I've been wanting to see it for a while, and I was not disappointed.  It was awesome.  My only regret is not having Joe there.  He would have absolutely loved it.  No flash photography was allowed during the show, but I got this one shot before the show started.  That dragon alone would have been enough for Joe.  He would have loved the flying monkeys too.  Next time it comes around he is going with me for sure.

The next day, Joe and I went and saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  I thought it was excellent.  I've stopped comparing the movies to the books, because if you do that you will ALWAYS be disappointed, but I really enjoyed it anyway.  I get that they have to condense the book and leave things out, but why do they feel that they have to add or change things?  The book is great the way it is.  That being said, I was very entertained.  I am now going back to read book 6 again.  Can't wait for movie 7 (or I should say "movies" 7).

The next day it was off to San Diego to see Coldplay.  Brian and I just saw them in November and it was an awesome show.  This time was a little more exciting because we brought Joe with us.  It was his very first concert and it was in San Diego, outdoors.  What could be better?  I remember my first concert.  It was New Order and it was awesome.  Anyway, it was fun to see Joe's reaction.  He loved every minute of it.  We had pretty good seats.  They had huge screens that you could watch, but Joe was confused by that:  "Why would you watch the screen, when you can look at them on stage for real?"  I totally agree.  I love seeing bands live.  Coldplay puts on a good show.  It was a lot like the show in November, only they were on stage a little longer.  They mixed the set list up a little bit, and they added "Green Eyes" which I was happy about.  They also sang "Billy Jean" as a tribute to Michael Jackson, which I was a little nervous about at first, but I think Chris Martin really pulled it off.  There was this kid behind us, maybe 9 or 10 that sang the words to every song, even the more obscure ones.  He was having the time of his life.  Joe also came away with his first concert t-shirt.  If he is anything like me, it will be the first of many.  The only crappy part was the parking.  It was a nightmare.  It took us an hour to get out of there.  Still worth it though.

Lastly, and of course, I haven't seen this yet, but I am super excited about it - I got my tickets today to see the season 5 tour of "So You Think You Can Dance".   Although I have to say Ticketmaster is a joke.  They totally suck.  It was a nightmare trying to get tickets.
Even though I was sorely disappointed in last weeks results of the show - enough to make me almost stop watching (I said ALMOST).  America is stupid.  Jason and Janette BOTH were wrong choices to go home.  I voted for Jason like 200 times - what is up?  His zombie dance was freaking awesome.  And that's all I have to say about that.

Anyway - more photos from the summer later on.

SEE YA!
