Holiday Fun...and other stuff

M2B =) days 264 - 271.  Tuesday, October 26th - Tuesday, November 2nd.

Tuesday, October 26th happiness:  Guster!  I can't get enough of their new album.  I keep listening to it over and over again.  It makes me so happy.

Wednesday, October 27th:  Tonight for mutual we met at the Stake Center for fitness night.  All of the young women in the stake were there.  There were several different fitness activities to choose from.  Our girls played dodge ball.

Can I just say how much I love our girls?  They are so fun, and have so much personality.  The stake has put this on for the last 3 weeks.  Each week our girls decided to dress in theme.  Last week it was 80's.  This week they dressed as nerds, and they looked awesome!  I am still kicking myself for not having my camera on me.

Thursday, October 28th happiness:  Today our 3rd grade class had a field trip.  We went to a corn festival.  I have tons of photos of my kids, but didn't want to post them on the internet, so instead, you get to see the corn:

The kids got to grind corn into flour, eat Johnny Cakes, and go through a corn maze.  Good times.

Because I work at a charter school, we don't get buses for our field trips.  We have to rely on parent volunteers to transport the kids.  I rode with one of the parents.  We had 5 kids with us.  The kids played the most hilarious game of "Would you rather....." on the way home.

If you aren't familiar with "Would you rather...."  It goes something like this.  "Would you rather be handcuffed in the ocean with a shark swimming towards you, or be naked in the street with a car coming at you?"  You then proceed to ask each other ridiculous questions.  For the record, 5 out of 5 kids would choose Darth Vadar over Lord Voldemort to be trapped in a room with.  Because, it's Darth Vadar, "how cool would that be?"  It's good to know that kids appreciate the classics!

The game took a hilarious turn when one of the girls posed a question for the 3 boys:  "Would you rather wear a bikini or a dress?"  One boy immediately shouted out "bikini".  Another boy took the time to think it over.  The third boy just blushed and started giggling furiously.  About 5 minutes later, after the game had moved on, the first boy said: "Wait, what's a bikini?"  This brought on a whole new round of giggles.  Once he found out what a bikini was he was adamant about changing his answer to "dress".

After one of the girls didn't like the two choices given to her, she happily replied "I would rather carve a pumpkin!"  and so that became the standard answer if you didn't like either of the choices.

We laughed all of the way home.  I love kids!

Tonight I went to check on Xander.  He ran into a brick wall, and so I brought him doughnuts.  I got a photo of the head wound:
I stayed for a bit and chatted with Sheri and Michelle.  It was fun.

Friday, October 29th happiness:  We had a Halloween party at school.  Good times.
Tonight, Brian and Joe brought me a peppermint chocolate chip shake from Chick-fil-a.  They know the way to my heart!  I didn't take a photo, so I took this one off the internet.  Doesn't it look heavenly?
Also, tonight we watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".  I love the Holidays!

Saturday, October 30th:  Today I got to read.  A lot.  Instead of telling you that I am reading Twilight again, I will tell you that I am also reading this book:
Joe has wanted me to read it forever.  It is one of his all time favorite books.  Probably because it takes place at Disneyworld, and he loves Disneyland so much.  We are going soon, so he begged me to start reading it.  I'm liking it so far.  Lots of fun.

Sunday, October 31st:  Happy Halloween!  This afternoon, after church we went to visit Great Grandmother.  We stop by every Halloween.  This is the first year that Joe hasn't dressed up though.  We chatted for a while, and ate (you can't go to Grandmothers without eating something).

Then, we headed over to a friends house to hang out a while.  We walked the neighborhood while their kids trick-or-treated.  The neighborhood was awesome.  So many people decorated their houses and their were tons of people out and about.  It was fun.

Then we went back to their house and hung out and handed out candy and ate delicious pumpkin cookies and pumpkin dessert.
Me and Joe:
Brian and Joe:
What can I say?  My boys love each other.

After a while, Steve pulled out the sparklers, and the kids went wild.

I got a photo of Joe spelling out his name.
I should have made him spell it backwards.  Oh well.

It was a super fun night.  One of my favorite Halloween's ever.

Monday, November 1st happiness:  Left over Halloween candy.
I snacked on these today.  A lot.

Tuesday, November 2nd happiness:  Voting always makes me happy.  It reminds me of how lucky I am to live in a free country.  It reminds me to not take those freedoms for granted.

And lastly, tonight Brian and I were watching "Chopped".  This guy was one of the contestants.  He kept cracking me up because he reminded me of a cartoon character.  Not just the way he looks, but his mannerisms too.  The faces he made, and some of the comments he made too, just struck me as funny.  I kept picturing him as a cartoon.  I know.  I'm weird.
Maybe it was just really late, and I was tired.  Everything is more funny when you are tired.

Happy Day!

More October happiness =)

M2B=) days 255 - 263.  Sunday, October 17th - Monday, October 25th.

Sunday, October 17th happiness:  I love Sundays.  It means I get to curl up on the couch with Brian and watch the Amazing Race.  I will be on this show someday!

Monday, October 18th happiness:  Last day of freedom before I go back to work.  I read Mistborn today.  a lot.  Joe and I went to Cheesecake factory for lunch - yum!  Also today - Chuck!  I love this show.

Tuesday, October 19th happiness:  I got to go back to work today.  I really missed those kids.  I have the best job in the world.

Wednesday, October 20th:  Rain.  How I love it!  Tonight Brian and I were watching Modern Family.  This show is always funny, but tonight we found ourselves laughing hysterically for a long time.  We had to pause so we didn't miss anything while we got the giggles out.

Thursday, October 21st happiness:  It's not a "double complete rainbow", but it is pretty, nonetheless.
Tonight, I went with some friends to pull a few Halloween pranks.  We got invited to the Wanda Witch Halloween party again this year.  Only, this year, to make it interesting, we were allowed to pull pranks on the other teams.  You got one point per prank, and you could only prank each team once.  There were 5 other teams, and we wanted to get all 5 points.

We put signs in peoples yards.
We put some For Sale signs on their cars, and their houses.
One special member from another team got their car saran wrapped.  We were actually going to do 2 cars, but the second guy caught us in the act.  Don't ever ask Brian to be your "lookout".  He totally let us down!  Even though we got caught, it was still so much fun.
Friday, October 22nd happiness:  The weather was so gorgeous today.  I drove with the windows down all day.  Also, I have been listening to Guster non-stop.  I can't get enough of their new album.  I love it so much.
Saturday, October 23rd happiness:  I got to watch this kid play soccer today.
And then, I got to watch these boys play football.

Tonight was the Wanda Witch Halloween party.  We were team "White Wizards".  Yes you got extra points for wearing your team color.  Otherwise, I would NEVER have worn white.
We had high hopes, for winning, but just ran into too many snags along the way.  It was so much fun though.  The Amazing Race is one of my most favorite shows, so to be invited to a Halloween party that is very much like the Amazing Race, was tons of fun.  I was so happy to be invited.  We had a great time.

Sunday, October 24th happiness:  I went to my mom and dads ward today to see Max, Ben and Joshua in their primary program.  They all did such a good job.  The primary program is my most favorite sacrament meeting of the year.  My favorite part was afterwards when Joshua ran up to me and gave me a huge hug.  I love that kid.

Monday, October 25th happiness:  Sheri brought me this today.
No, its not from Sprinkles.  I've had Sprinkles and they are no where near this good.  This is from Sugar Daddy's.  It was oh so Heavenly!

I love my sister Sheri.  Thanks so much.

Happy Day!

Cabin Days Photo Frenzy

M2B =) days 252 - 254.  Thursday, October 14th - Saturday, October 16th.

So there are 26 photos in this post for only 3 days.  I can't help it.  When I go to the cabin, I take tons of pictures.  I could have included waaay more, but I didn't.

Thursday, October 14th happiness:  Dallin showed us where the swing in the woods was.
Yes, there is a random swing, on a hill, in the forest.  And, it's not like it's right off of the road.  The road ends, and you have to walk to it.  I don't know who put it up, but it sure was fun.  Yes, I did try it.  No, you won't see pictures of that.

I loved when Dallin and Joe tried it together.
My mom and I took the boys to Greer (of course).  I love the drive, it's gorgeous.

I love being up North in October.  The leaves are changing, yea!
Random picture of Joe.  It's my blog, I can do what I want.
Then, of course, we drove to the top of Greens peak to enjoy the view.
We drove the forest road home so we could enjoy the scenery.
Joe and Dallin sat like this all the way home from Greens peak.

We drove down Christmas Tree Lane.
Joe and Dallin made a game of touching as many trees as they could on the way home.
I love it up here.  I seriously wished I lived here.

Friday, October 15th happiness:  Joe, Dallin and I took a loooong ranger ride this morning.  It was so cold (which I loved, of course).
This afternoon we had to pack up and say goodbye, but, as always, we enjoyed our stay at Lambson Lodge.
Saturday, October 16th happiness:  My mom threw a Halloween party for all of the kids (me included).  We made Oreo spiders.
The cutest witch you ever did see showed up...
So did Buzz Lightyear, War Machine, and Spiderman.
We ate doughnuts off a string...

Well, this girl wanted to, but she just couldn't reach.
We played fun games....
and took silly pictures.

We shot each other with marshmallows....
and ate lots of candy.
All in all, a successful Halloween party.  Thanks mom!

That's it for now.

Happy Day!
